- Can you send me a sample of your merchandise?
We’ve tried sending sample hats out, but the return rate is incredibly low. I’m sorry a few unscrupulous hatters have decided not to return our merchandise.
- Where do you obtain the merchandise?
Panama Hats:
Our Montecristi Panama Hats of Paja Toquilla come from the town of Montecristi, Manabi, Ecuador. Our Cuenca hats come from Cuenca,
Azuay, Ecuador...we never sell Cuenca hats as Montecristis.
Alpaca:
We obtain our alpaca merchandise at the world famous Poncho Plaza in Otavalo, Ecuador. Some pieces we buy direct from Peru and
Bolivia.
Folk Art:
We scan the countryside looking for unique art and use a myriad of artisans in our projects.
- Do you have references?
Yes. We can offer you email addresses of clients as references. Do a search for Panamabob and The Fedora Lounge on Google and you'll find dozens of men who wear hats every day as our customers.
We also are neutral members of The Fedora Lounge. You can see many of our hats there on happy, happy members. The Fedora Lounge website

- Do you ship worldwide?
Yes! THe shipping and handling (per hat) for USA is $12.99. The rest of the world will be charged a $9.99 surcharge for airmail shipping and a $25.00 surcharge for Express mail shipping.
- Why are your Montecristi Hats so low in price as compared to others?
There are a number ofl reasons for the low prices. I'm not here to offend anyone nor question business practices. These are
the main reasons we can offer low prices:
- We have very low overhead. Basically we pay for the webpages, our taxes, and the product.
- We believe in keeping the weavers weaving. We believe it is good business to keep selling hats and keeping the weavers
weaving, rather than selling one hat a month at huge markups from actual wholesale price. I'd be happy to make $5.00 from 50
hats than $250.00 from one hat.
- Rent and real estate in Ecuador is quite cheap as compared to the States.
- For the past couple years we've just been making a name in the business and need to keep our prices low
enough to appeal to many levels of society. We offer many levels of hats and don't aim to serve the exclusive
crowd nor just those who seek economic hat solutions. We certainly have such offerings and at great prices,
but we want to sell to the "regular man on the street" as well. Also, there are no written or explicit guarantees or warranties. We guarantee to get you the hat that you've ordered and it is yours. We will not accept refunds, but we will work to exchange any hat if needed.
Thanks for visiting us, we hope you had a pleasant visit. Please don't hesitate to email us your
questions, comments or offer suggestions for our web site.
