Measure your head where the hat will be placed exactly. If in doubt, put on one of your best fitting dress hats (not a baseball type hat) and note where it comes on your head. Now measure using a flexible tape or preferably a cloth tape. If you don't have one, use a THIN wire or a paper band or at least a non stretchy string, then measure the wire or string with a measuring device. Don't stretch the string when you measure. Wrap the tape/wire/string around your head snugly but NOT real tight. Measure several times, taking the average. If you are in doubt about your hat size, go to the next largest whole centimeter. As with any hat anywhere a shim made of thin foam loosely inserted between the sweat band and the hat body makes up for half and quarter sizes and is quite comfortable. A piece of shim inserted front and/or back may be used. Any hat needs to be worn a while to settle in place and take the shape of the wearer's head.

Buying a present for him? Sneak one of his hats that you know fits and look at the size tag inside. Use the size chart below to determine the centimeter measurement.
